Update: As part of your Local SEO strategy, or even being properly indexed in search engines, you need to know your local web directories. There are so many to choose from, but not all of them will benefit your site. Unlike the USA, we don't have a huge population with many states and capital cities. There are only a handful of Australian web directories you need to submit to in order to get the ball rolling: often it's all you need.
It's been a while since I've written a blog post, however, recently I've come to that daunting task of building a list of web directories relevant to Australia, so I figured why not make a blog post out of it. I've gone through a list containing hundreds of local web directories; it was frustrating. How I obtain these web directories is by scraping them inside search engines, looking at competitors links, reading other articles about web directories and years of experience.
Unlike most of the other articles promoting local web directories, I'm going to assume you know why it's important to submit your business to these platforms, even if you may not know the technical side of data structure. Instead I will give some insight into my findings for Local SEO, that may be obvious for some, ie consultant like myself, but not so obvious for others.
